Our Team

Cam Deery, President

As the President, Cam is responsible for creating, communicating, and implementing Castaway’s vision, mission, and overall direction. Cam brings more than 20 years of executive leadership expertise in management, as well as sales and marketing. Highly experienced in information technology (IT) hardware, solutions, and services, Cam is the visionary and driving force behind the company’s CastTRAC chain-of-custody program for securely processing offline data-bearing assets.

Prior to founding Castaway, Cam held executive management and sales positions at Axis Communications (NASDAQ Stockholm: AXIS), BaseSix,  C4N Inc., and Xyplex (now MRV Communications; NASDAQ: MRVC) . He brings great passion, solid business fundamentals, and creative solutions to the Information Technology Asset Disposition (ITAD) industry. Cam is a graduate of the University of Vermont, where he earned his Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing.


Brian Sifferlen, Chief Financial Officer

As the Chief Financial Officer, Brian brings more than 25 years of extensive accounting, finance and industry knowledge to Castaway. Brian is responsible for overseeing finances, operations and general day to day business. He also assists in performing tasks necessary to achieve the organization’s mission and help execute staff succession and growth plans.

Prior to joining the Castaway team, Brian held Vice President positions at The Bank of New York Mellon (NYSE: BK) and Mellon Financial Corporation in the Information Technology (IT) Finance Group. Brian is a graduate of Merrimack College with a Bachelor’s in Finance.


Patrick Harris, Client Manager

As Client Manager, Patrick serves as the key liaison between Castaway and our clients, ensuring that we deliver exceptional customer service and achieve outstanding client satisfaction. He is responsible for managing and maintaining client relationships, developing individual account plans and providing value throughout all our relationships.  Further, Patrick is responsible for new client acquisition and implementing the onboarding process via our highly consultative sales approach. He is helping to enhance and further shape the Castaway brand through his diligent interaction with clients, assessment of market conditions and execution of our best-in-class suite of IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) Services.

Patrick brings nearly a decade of executive-level expertise in sales and account management within the software and human capital management (HCM) industries. He flourished at the $3 billion Paychex (NASDAQ: PAYX) and then most recently at Paycor.  Although humble, he is a highly awarded professional that includes multiple national sales awards over the past seven consecutive years. He is also a New England Champion pole vaulter and a New England Hockey Champion.  Every day, Patrick brings a nurturing spirit to Castaway and our clients.


Karl Nordin, Sales Operations Supervisor

As the Sales Operations Supervisor, Karl is responsible for managing our retail and e-commerce sales channels and team of product sales specialists. He is keenly focused on improving our product sales processes, providing excellent customer service and increasing sales revenues and profits. Karl is also the driving force behind Castaway’s adoption and implementation of a new company inventory management system in 2016.

Prior to joining Castaway, Karl was living the good, clean life with his family in the Pacific Northwest, Beaver State of Oregon. He founded and subsequently sold, Make IT Simple PDX, an I.T. Consulting Business specializing in Apple technology and services. There he combined his true entrepreneurial spirit with his engineering background, passion for IT (especially Apple solutions) and analytical mindset. Karl also held Senior IT and Civil Engineering positions at Sjobeck Integration Professionals, PacLand, David Evans and Associates, Inc., Cardno WRG (ASX: CDD), Parsons Brinckerhoff (TSX: WSP), Layne GeoConstruction (LAYN: NASDAQ), and Modern Continental. Karl attended Columbia University and also holds a BS in Civil & Environmental Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He is a true team player, challenges everyone to perform at our highest levels and brings a fun and competitive spirit to the Castaway culture.
